Ips and Black Turpentine Beetles: Nashville’s Other Pine Killers
Nashville homeowners with pines have probably heard of the southern pine beetle (Dendroctonus frontalis). It’s the one that makes headlines
Large, hazardous, and brittle trees present significant safety challenges during removals — particularly when the tree is growing over a home, building, or high-traffic area. Fortunately, AKA Tree Service has both the skills and equipment needed to handle these jobs safely.
Some tree removal jobs are fairly straightforward, requiring minimal equipment and only a small arborist crew to handle safely. But others are fraught with complexity and danger.
This includes trees growing over structures, those that’ve become wedged in the canopy of another tree, and those that’ve already started to decay and fall apart. For that matter, even relatively simple removal jobs can become tricky when they’re hard to access with bucket trucks or lifts.
But when operated by a skilled crew, cranes can make it possible to remove these kinds of challenging trees while protecting people and property.
To keep your property safe, beautiful, and accessible, you need more than a guy with a truck and a chainsaw. You need a trained team that understands the risks trees can present, follows safe work practices, and treats your property with care.
That’s exactly what you get when you rely on the experts at AKA Tree Service.

Cranes can be used in a variety of scenarios to help provide greater control over tree sections and improved safety for anyone in the vicinity. However, a few of the most common projects that benefit from the help of a crane include:
There are a number of situations in which a crane can make a tree removal project simpler, faster, or safer. And while every situation is unique and requires an evaluation by a certified arborist, the following scenarios are some of the ones in which a crane is often helpful.
Not all of these scenarios will necessitate the use of a crane. Your AKA Tree Service representative can assess the tree and your property to determine whether it can be handled conventionally or if a crane is required.
Generally speaking, crane-assisted removals will cost between $2,000 and $15,000, though especially complex or hazardous removals may exceed this range. The exact cost of your tree-removal project will vary based on a variety of factors.
A few of the most influential factors that determine the cost of a crane-assisted removal include:
Fortunately, it’s easy to find out exactly what your crane-assisted tree removal project will cost — simply contact the AKA Tree Service team. One of our arborists will visit your property, assess the tree, evaluate the landscape, and provide you with an itemized estimate.
